COMPASSION IN ACTION
An On-going Family Service Project
Compassion in Action is an ongoing intergenerational faith event(s) and we held one August 22, 2021 at St Josephine Bakhita Parish at SES Campus. People of all ages, adults and children alike came together to celebrate, as a community, and to discover creative ways to reach out in compassion to each other and to our world. This is the first of a series of intergenerational events that will be offered throughout the upcoming year. However, you can do your part by completing a service project of your own.

The ultimate benefits of giving! |
You cannot be depressed when you show up everyday to bring hope to people in despair.
You cannot feel lack when you give everyday to the poor. You cannot feel alone when you truly seek to meet people's needs. You cannot feel unworthy when you show others how precious they are. You cannot feel ugly when you truly see how beautiful all people are. You cannot feel you don't matter when you see that everyone truly matters. You cannot feel unloved when you love others. Love is something you do. What you don't give, you lose. If you don't have it, give it away to somebody today. Protect and keep the things you value by giving them.” ― Dr. Dragos Bratasanu, Author, Speaker, and Award Winning Scientist |

Suggestions to consider for projects
|
To show compassion for yourself, others and the world, each
family is asked to reach out to those in need.
How can we do this?
- Decide on an amount of money to dedicate to this project, and it's entirely up to you how much you budget for the project.
- Brainstorm ways to use this money to help others. Think of ways to do the most good for the most people.
- Work together as a family to develop a plan to carry out your service project and make sure each person has an important role.
- It does not have to be a one and done project either, you can choose a project that may take more time than one day, or a few hours, but maybe will take a couple months. That is okay!
- Carry out your plan. Take photos along the way (with permission) to showcase your efforts.
- Reflect on how your project impacted you, your family, and your community. How did your family's faith grow?
