Monica Piombino started as the Director of Faith Formation for St Josephine Bakhita parish in July of 2019. Monica has been  involved in the ministries of Religious education especially in the areas of Confirmation preparation  and youth ministry for over 30 years.

Monica has held ministry positions on both  the diocesan and parish levels but her true love and passion is whenever she can be one on one with people, getting to know them and sharing with them her faith and love for God.


Monica lives in Madison with her husband Ron and her three grown children, one married and two engaged to be married in the next two years. She is so happy and excited to be among the wonderful people of St Josephine Bakhita parish.

A Christmas Manger is a tradition that focuses on preparing for Jesus' birth through acts of kindness and service to others. During Advent, a piece of straw (or other material like hay, yarn, paper, ribbon, etc...) is placed in the manger for each kind deed or act of service performed.

PRAYING THE HOLY ROSARY AND CREATING YOUR OWN
​The rosary has 59 beads, a crucifix, and a medal, with certain prayers for each of these different pieces. The prayers of the rosary can be divided into three categories: 1.Introductory Prayers, 2. The Decades, 3. Closing Prayers. With the prayers of the rosary, we ask Mary to pray for us and to guide us by the example of her son, Jesus.

​1. Lessons: Vision Gospel for each week. A hard copy of the child’s pamphlet was provided to you in your packet. A link to the Parent Teaching Page will help you present the Gospel Weekly lessons at home.

2. Home Activity – This simple interactive activity is meant to build your faith and develop your relationship with Jesus as a family.

3. Monthly Zoom Meetings – The monthly Zoom meetings will provide music, prayer, stories and sharing of activities for parents and their children in the lesson. Opportunities for parents to ask questions and support in teaching the lessons will be made available at the end of each virtual meeting. View Zoom expectations before starting.​

4. Watch Videos - Watch the 3-5 minute videos in the monthly playlist.

5. Pray and Reflect – Follow the instructions under this playlist.

6. What I have learned – Students complete the end of class review when all their work from the playlist is completed for the month. As part of the end of class review, students will also complete a monthly on-line assessment of the lesson Vision  Gospel Weekly.
NOTE: The faith formation staff will send an email to parents to advise them the name of their child's teacher and when class will meet. There will be ONE (1) ZOOM Session for this class per month. A link to the Zoom class will be emailed to the parents by the catechist (teacher).
